Losing signal

"Losing Signal" depicts an astronaut floating between movement and stillness in a fragmented, almost dissolved space. The connection line coils around the figure, but instead of providing security, it emphasizes the feeling of distance, disconnection, and uncertain direction. The black, reflective helmet makes the astronaut anonymous and transforms the figure into an image of humanity when contact with the familiar weakens. The grounding is weakened. Instead, there are hints of noise, signal disturbances, and a reality in dissolution. The work revolves around those periods when the connection to others, to the surroundings, or to one's own inner direction becomes weak. Losing the signal can be experienced as isolation, but it can also be the beginning of a transition where old points of orientation no longer work, and something new has yet to become clear. Collage and mixed media created with recycled paper, paint, and texture-creating materials. Lacquered/matte finish.
